This CCTV camera manufactured by Sweden’s Axis Communications, and owned and administered by the New York City Department of Transportation, is suspended directly over an intersection. In a 2011 upgrade of old analog equipment, NYCDOT purchased video servers and several network cameras to better monitor traffic, and stream video and images to other government agencies and to the public over its website. The stream from NYC-DOT cameras can be found at nyctmc.org/multiview2.php
It is impossible to tell whether it also feeds an Automatic License Plate Reader/Recognition (ALPR) system consisting of computer vision and optical character recognition software to recognize flagged vehicles.
